About me
Luiz Augusto is a contemporary self-taught artist born in 1965 in Rio de Janeiro. Since 1995 photography has been taken with great seriousness, mainly in the search for more knowledge about photographic techniques and the innumerous aspects of this art.
His preference for portraying people and what happens in everyday life wherever he is, whether in the Americas, Europe or the Middle East, shows us how important it is to preserve the cultural diversity of each region.
Learning from the masters
There is nothing more certain than following the trails climbed by the most experienced. Observing the different looks of great Brazilian photographers, we learn from them and pay homage to those who serve as inspiration.
In a country with so many beauties and social issues like ours, there are many opportunities to create narratives in photographic language. When interpreting their works, I learned a lot through the views of Augusto Malta, Georges Lewzinger, Marc Ferrez, Sebastião Salgado, Walter Firmo, Carlos Vergara, Bob Wolfenson, Evandro Teixeira and Araquém Alcântara.
Through the lens, another look
Being a tourism professional made me see the world through the lens and with them I try to immortalize an instant that will never come back. Recording the moments of emotion, the depth of silence, the intensity of a distant look and the beauty of the features are the charms that capture a photographer.
However, the biggest reward is seeing people being moved by what I did. Because of this, all my work is divided into 10 thematic sections: Corporate Events, Daily Life, Live Shows, Sports, Popular Parties, Portraits, Fashion, Landscapes, Architecture and Wildlife.
